What is the University Writing Portfolio Timed Write?

  • The Timed Write is one of the requirements for the University Writing Portfolio. The timed write consists of two impromptu essays written during a single, supervised two-hour session. One essay will be argumentative and the other will be a self-evaluation.
  • An administration fee is charged to students’ accounts. This fee is not for virtual proctoring.
  • Note: Students on the Everett, Pullman, Spokane, Tri-Cities, and Vancouver campuses should sign up for a timed writing session on their home campus. Visit Writing Assessment Contacts.
